On a personal note, I LOVE the signs of spring I've been seeing lately. The red tulips in our tub plant box are blooming. We got to meet one of my students new baby rabbits and the weather has been AMAZING! We might need more rain but I can't get enough of this 70s weather. On another personal note I posted some of my favorite things that I LOVE to have at school. I love "I Love Lucy" and went to a play with one of my best friends last November. I bought a Vitameatavegamin water bottle and have been using it every day. My hubby got me a wireless Bose speaker for Christmas that I love, great sound quality and my music is portable (perfect for P.E.). My hubby was also sweet and got me a new travel mug (my Tinkerbell ones were looking rather pathetic) and of course he got me my favorite red head on my travel mug! I love them!

I am up to three products now! One thing my students struggle with is prepositions. So after looking at the clip art I gathered during the big sale I soon saw my next product. Since it's March why not practice prepositions with a tricky leprechaun. It's in my store for FREE! I also got to see my product being used in another classroom thanks to Speaking of Kids for the sweet shout out on Instagram! It's so exciting to see my product helping other teachers who have the same struggles and need a great resource! Go grab your preposition practice book"Where is the Leprechaun?" today, it's Free! Have you read this awesome book Giraffes Can't Dance! A while ago I pinned a really cute art craft by Deep Space Sparkle. I loved how she used this book with an art project. I started my peaches with the story then we did a directed drawing on practice paper. They were then ready to start their dancing Giraffe. Some used the books for ideas and others used their imagination. The results so far have been so cute and creative!

Back to Leprechauns! So last minute Thursday I decided to do Leprechaun traps with my kiddos for Fun Friday. I hesitate to do this activity with my kiddos because it leads to a huge mess in the classroom. But I committed and I'm glad I did. The peaches came up with some great traps. We also talked about Leprechauns and made the cute craft in the bottom photo. I think I got the idea from The Mailbox but I haven't made it in years. I plan to put the templates that I made up tomorrow.

This week was all about assessments for report cards. We made a "how to" book so I could assess their expository writing. I was quite surprised by all of my peaches writing. This page, out of one of my peaches' story, had me beaming with pride. He has been writing stories all year long! They just keep getting better and better.

We also learned about fact families with my first grade peaches. It was a struggle at first but they all understood the concept when we were done.

Bonus:
The best part of my day is receiving little gifts from my peaches. On Friday, I received this cute drawing from one of my peaches. She gave it to me and said "This is you!" I love the outfit (I do wear jeans a lot) and the curly hair. My heart's truly in primary! Have a great week everyone!

First up, our Dr. Seuss activities! I didn't do too much this year because I wasn't around the weekend before. The photo booth is always my "go to" for this week. To start the week I did my make up to match The Cat in the Hat and we read lots of Dr. Seuss books! Friday was the big celebration. We had a photo booth, a craft for my little peaches thanks to the Glyph Girls! We also used First Grade Blue Skies directed drawing on Thursday for art! My favorite activity was making The Cat in the Hat's hat out of strawberries and bananas. How did you celebrate this week?

After reading Erica Bohrer's guide to getting started on TPT I decided to open up a store. She walked step by step through the process and recommended some great fonts and clip art. Lately, I have been a clip art addict! I see the clip art and get so many ideas! One of my first products was a Verb Mini unit. My second grade peaches were learning about verbs so I whipped up a little mini unit with readers, a write the room and a matching pictures page. I am really enjoying this journey and have so many great products in mind for the future. If you wanna check out my Verbs Mini Unit click the picture below or click here!

This week was this little peaches birthday. The girls had so much fun treating her all day whether it be her going first for whole group math problems or just fixing her tutu. It was great seeing these three get along! Her mom also brought a pinata for the kiddos along with cupcakes and goody bags. It was a mini party at school. Everyone had fun!

Thursdays I teach art! I always try to find something that will interest the older peaches but isn't impossible for my little peaches. Luckily, one of my fifth grade peaches wanted to do an art project with duct tape. So we split up! I did pom pom pens and she did duct tape bows, wallets and pens. If they weren't working with me or my student they were coloring their directed drawing of cat in the hat! Everyone enjoyed the art projects!

On Friday, my peaches learned about fact and opinion. I used the OREO (Opinion, Reason, Example and Opinion) method to write an example on the board. After practicing for about 25 minutes they wrote an opinion about their favorite animal/animals. One peach did one about her mom that was so sweet! This lesson definitely successful and they understood what was an opinion and what was a fact.

Bonus:
Every now and then I'll find fun notes or drawings from my peaches! Well, Thursday I asked one of my second grade peaches to help his peer finish his sentences for spelling. Let's just say it did not go over well. That bar looks mighty full which would have been bad for his best friend/worst enemy.
